The story of the typeface began in 2014, when inspired by the Air America logo, I created the first version of Air Americana just for fun. After 8+ years, I felt it was time for a re-design, giving every glyph the care and attention it deserves.
Although the most important reward is the typeface itself, because nobody loves to wait, there are a fair share of rewards for those who may be interested in backing this project, which you can get right now.
The initial target will be to design all glyphs required for the Basic Latin character set. Once that's achieved the typeface will be made available to the whole world under the SIL Open Font License (a free, libre and open source license specifically designed for fonts and related software). However, if there is continued support for it moving forward, you can expect me to move the goalposts of this project in order to include Extended Latin characters.
